Every classic hero has a support figure who guides and supports them through their hero’s journey. Skywalker had Yoda. Batman has Alfred. And BareBones supports the Wildland Firefighter by supplying functional apparel, footwear, and accessories designed for the rigors of your work, life, and outdoors. Our goal is to make you look good, feel good, and keep you safe.

Our History
Our business started over 23 years ago in a garage and a beat-up van. We peddled recycled rags & coveralls. In our heyday, we diverted over 30 tons a month from the dumps.
About 15 years ago, we opened a retail section in a warehouse with new consumer products at bargain prices. We wanted to be a no-nonsense guys’ store – just some cool stuff on distressed pallet rack shelves – just a BareBones operation. One day someone actually said, “I like shopping here.”
Although “a shopping experience” was never part of the original plan, we decided to go with the concept and make the customer experience our focus. We now live by The Platinum Rule: Do unto others as they would want done to them.
Social Responsibility
The adage “it takes a village” reminds us to participate in social causes, particularly environmental and economic issues. We have a responsibility to use our resources to contribute where we can.
We want to be involved. We want a common-sense business approach to give something back – to our community and the environment. We hope our connections with CAL FIRE bring us more opportunities to contribute.
Pricing
The BareBones Pre-discounted Pricing Policy means a no-nonsense, everyday discounted price. We don’t raise our prices, then offer a discount. However, we believe in transparency, so we will meet or beat any legitimate* online price.
*Legitimate price – a verifiable, valid price based on real-time availability and all related costs, like shipping and fees.
Delivery
We ship as quickly as possible after we receive an order. If processing time extends due to delays in our fulfillment centers, this is indicated on our product page. Any delays due to the customization of certain products will also be displayed on the product page.
Our goal is to ship out your purchase as quickly as possible. FedEx or USPS may deliver your package. We try our best around Holidays and the Fire Season, but we ask for your patience as shipments may be slowed on these occasions.
